Lille Bakery Revamp
We were asked to revamp Lille Bakery, a popular destination on the island of Refshaleøen. The client had a clear aesthetic for both their food and the space, timeless and airy; therefore we saw our designs as a natural development of their brand.
We enriched their simple material palette with the addition of pine and ash woods, to contrast with the light space and white walls; allowing their vibrant produce to take centre stage.
We designed an assortment of pieces; a Bakers’ Table, a Bakers’ Peel and a number of Display Trays, all made from local European timbers.

The Bakers’ Peel is a frequently used tool going hand in hand with the table, swiftly scooping bread loaves to and from the oven.
Display trays come in three different sizes to display their tasty treats. Crafted from solid pine using a combination of CNC and Hand tools, the delicate joinery allows for Douglas fir ‘Toblerones’ to playfully prop up the trays to better present the goods.
The Bakers’ Table stands as a central figure in space where all the bread making takes place. It is sturdy and mobile, a modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse sideboard. Made both by hand and utilising a CNC; carefully assembled by our team.
