As part of an apartment renovation on Amager, we designed a one-off kitchen on a tight budget. For this project, we wanted to celebrate the beauty of Douglas fir. We worked with many solid elements (drawers, trims and windowsill) contrasting them with cooler materials (birch ply, stainless steel, Forbo linoleum and reeded glass).
The project required reworking an existing kitchen frame, whilst keeping serviceable elements in order to reduce waste.
Within a 60’s concrete apartment block, aesthetic challenges such as exposed pipes were brought into the design response.
